June heralds the start of the British garden rose season and once you've experienced these beauties nothing else compares - the fragrance and shape is absolutely divine. We're lucky enough to work with a brilliant supplier of British flowers cut by growers in the south of England and rather than use these lovelies only for weddings, we're now stocking British garden roses in our Salisbury shop for everyone to enjoy.
My personal favourites are:
Margaret Merrill (above)- pale peachy white rose with a strong fragrance even before they're open. Usually has multiple blooms on a stem and open like a frilly dog rose.
Romantic Antike (above) - dark peach rose, not too strong in fragrance but the large blousy bloom certainly makes up for it.
Pure Poetry - a "gentle" dark pink colour, large "old English" style rose with a gorgeous fragrance.
